We are a small distributed team of developers, contributing from different countries around the globe. We have been working in a distributed environment for years but always felt the lack of a convenient communication tool.
Over the years, we discovered that virtual teams simply want to progress as efficiently as possible, uninhibited by tedious software applications. Jaconda does this by integrating with your existing setup.
We wanted a team chat that would seamlessly fit into the way we communicate – using Instant Messengers. We started Jaconda as a side project for ourselves in 2009, opened it to the public in 2010, and launched paid features later.
Jaconda is a chat service for project teams. Chat rooms are accessible through web browsers and instant messengers (using Google Talk). Also, rooms can be integrated with project management services your team may already be using.
Everybody heard of Campfire, and they say that "It’s as simple as visiting a web page". Yes, it is that simple, but only for one-time chats. Other developers create new IM services or offer more 3rd party software to download and install.
What teams need is a place to collaborate on a daily basis without the hassle of getting all members onto a separate software platform. Jaconda connects directly through any existing IM client, or through your web browser.
Jaconda connects people in project teams, delivers offline messages and information from other services. It allows you to stay in touch, get information about project commits, bug reports and support tickets in real-time.
